Event - Head & Neck Symposium - Summary

The Liverpool ECMC hosted the 3rd Translational Symposium in Head & Neck Oncology with the Mersey Head & Neck Oncology Research Group on 16th March at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. The symposium was aimed at the whole multi-disciplinary team and attracted over 100 attendees from across the UK including clinicians, scientists, nurses and allied health professionals.

Presentations focussed on the use of immunotherapy for treatment of head and neck cancer, were provided by a dynamic faculty of 13 speakers, with sessions on the following:

• Key topics in immunotherapy
• Integration of immunotherapy to clinical practice
• Drug design to delivery
• Head & Neck Trials Showcase

The event was chaired by Mr. Andrew Schache (Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Head & Neck Surgery) and Dr Joe Sacco (Clinical Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Medical Oncology).

The event received positive feedback from delegates with 95% of attendees stated the event was useful or extremely useful to their practice.
